Otaku operates on a military theme with two possible career paths: Enlisted and Commissioned. If you choose to join, you start out as a No0b and climb the ranks as you complete Otaku Cards, earning yourself a better monthly wage. Every card you complete will be dedicated to - or themed around - a card set here at 5"x7.5". In this respect, it's a way of collecting a set even after you've mastered it.
In addition to this, as your Otaku rank increases you will gain the opportunity to take part in extra missions to earn medals and special rewards.
To complete each Otaku card a number of tasks must be completed. The tasks depend on which 'path' you choose to take as an Otaku, although some are common to both. Several tasks can be done at any time - for example, you can master the card set for your Otaku card either whilst your card is active (meaning that it's the card you're listed in the Hall of Fans as working on) or beforehand. So don't worry, if you've already mastered it you don't have to master it again! However, other tasks can only be done whilst your card is active. So, if you donated a master badge for the set for your Otaku card before you activated your card you'll need to donate another one for it to count.
Whilst neither path is easy, the Enlisted Path does have less task requirements for completion. It also doesn't require you to make any graphics or donations. The Commissioned Path, by comparison, has more tasks and does require active participation in both contests and donations. To make up for this, the rewards available from the Commissioned Path are greater.
You can change your career path at any time - however, you will have to start at the lowest rank of the path you change to and will lose any rank or wage you may have already earned. In addition, you may not complete the same Otaku card on both career paths.

Collect all 6 stickers for that set Stickers are randomly inserted into packs at a ratio of roughly 1 in every 2 packs (about the same as rare cards). Otaku stickers can be traded with other members but do not count as trades towards your trade count. It is also possible to swap stickers using the form in the Otaku Stickers section. | |
